I'm not his defender or anything but what does that even mean. As far as I'm concerned an exploit would be something where there is some personal gain involved. Being frustrated and just quitting and therefor conceding a game has really nothing to do with personal gain and therefor nothing to do with an exploit.

I completely agree that getting frustrated and quitting is not an exploit.  I'm not attempting to be unreasonable.  If that's all that was happening, it would be foolish for me to make a post.  I generally don't like to get involved in explaining the details of stat exploits, but imagine that you don't lose experience even if you take a loss.  I haven't paid enough attention to see if your opponents don't get the experience they'd receive for beating you as a result.  Again, it only matters if you give a rip about the ladder.  

We reset our accounts every few weeks just to be able to even play at all. It just doesn't make sense to even bring that up. As far as I know the ladder experience isn't even influenced by it. I don't really care enough to argue about it more but I think it's a long way from a frustrated loser to a stat exploiter. You're labelling them as the same thing right now.

you are off, frustrated looser in a few games is fine.  quitting before the citadel goes down consistently is not. Pllus quitting anytime consistently is also poor manners.  I cant believe ppl even dare to say that they were just quitting because they were loosing when they drop as the citadel is going down, it makes no sense at all not to wait for a few more seconds unless you are looking to gain something from the exploit.

p.s. not talking about a particular player here, just in general

I'd like to nominate Pantera_Cowboy for the avoid list. He attempted a citadel desync, and apparently (See http://forums.demigodthegame.com/372928) is a terrible team player.

that wasn´t an offense towards you, just my experience from a match with ya. Couldn´t know what you are doing besides playing and if you don´t take an enemy serious, i don´t care. We should have won this game easily if my partners spent money in thecitadel. Remember, we were 3 levl of warscore in front of youtr team. Could have had giants much earlier, deciding the game easily. It wasn´t the case - so what. Anyway, was a nice game and would be a pleasure playing with or against you again !

Re: the XP exploit I've been referring to - I'm going to do some testing this weekend to confirm this exploit.  I've researched all of the other exploits in the past and understand exactly how they work.  With this exploit, I've gone by what others have indicated to be the case without verifying. If I can verify that no xp is lost on 2v2 and 3v3, then my comments will stand re:obs.  Otherwise, I'll remove my comments and issue i sweet little appology and pop obsc up to tier 1.  Its a pain in the ass to test this one as you only know if xp was lost when the ladder is updated once a day.  Anyway, idiotic on my part to call out an exploit without personally confirming its existence.

I generally agree that panth isn't all that much of a good way to show skill.  Its a complete grab bag.  You could get the world's greatest teammate and win as a result or get a feeder and lose. And the same goes for your competition - you could be up against weak players or strong.  There's nothing in panth that balances out teams.

And I do believe that pre v pre is the highest level of competition you can get with demigod, but skill levels have increased on quite a few folks in the past few months so getting high level, highly coordinated pugs going is possible now. 

Ryan - you should check out lagwars vent this weekend if you are free and want some games either with or against me.  I expect there will be quite a few of us online for pug/pre games this w/e.

You had an opportunity to use this list as a shoutout to the players whose skill levels are top tier. The ones who you would most likely want on your team or whom you would most likely dread playing against. Instead it's turned into a critque of the players' values and other aspects of their playstyle which really have nothing to do with the odds of them winning some kind of tournament.

Now that I think about it if we wanted a real list of good players then a tournament should have been the only way to make it onto the list, there was never really a need to stray so far from the simplicity of the original post, and on the upside the players on that list could have actually gotten into a few more games than usual.

It's not too late for that, though I don't know who would be interested in setting it up.

Here's the real irony of this post: It's become a big popularly contest when there's nothing more unpopular in this community than a player who wins a lot.

Obsc - let's clear this up if you are willing.  I find your behavior strange regarding when you choose to leave games.  Based on all I've heard about the xp exploit (if that nonsense even exists), you choose to leave games right as the citadel is going down.  I could care less if you've pissed off someone in my team/clan.  Woo... you pissed off someone.  If you'd like this thread to go in a more constructive direction, please chime in - why not just wait the few extra seconds before the citadel drops to leave the game.  I'm not talking about dropping 5 minutes in or rage quitting.  And I'm only concerned as several people have indicated that your behavior would trigger the exploit. I've done my testing re: this exploit and will review the results tomorrow.

Re: the list - let's be real.  This is a list based on opinion with my opinion being the final judge regarding "ladder" status.  Sure, if could be something else... but if I'm the final judge, then its going to be subjective due to that.  So, if you can handle that the ladder will be based on opinion rather than just stats, then you are all set.

And last - one of my values is not cheating at demigod.  I don't use the desync or host disconnect exploit.  And if there's an xp exploit, I don't use that either or try to trigger it.  I'm not AT ALL calling you an asshole, but - if you were the best DG player on earth, but the biggest a-hole, you wouldn't make this list, outside of perhaps the players to avoid.  I hope you do recognize that you aren't on the "to avoid list" and I'm taking the time to personally review and test the exploit myself. 

And what I said still stands - if I can't confirm the existence of an exploit, I will apologize, etc.  I feel bad I accused without testing the exploit.  I will surely correct myself if I am in the wrong.
