Well, I started a thread back in Dec 2011 that’s seen a lot of activity (some 922,000 views over the course of a few years apparently...). That thread had a good deal of tips/strategies/discussions about League of Legends from new and old players alike. You can find the previous thread (now archived) here: https://forums.joeuser.com/413863. I think its time to start fresh with a new thread.

What’s this thread all about?
For those that followed the previous thread, the type of content you see here will be fairly consistent to what you are used to. Please consider this a place to discuss LoL related content as you like. I'll do the same and treat the thread as a blog as well where I talk about what’s going on with me in LoL. Feel free to jump in and join the discussion if you like.

Quick background on me
I played a lot of Demigod as pacov/cheesuscrust. Back in August 2011, I started getting heavily involved in League of Legends, and folks from the community were kind enough to help me figure things out. I play LoL most nights, stream, make videos and it’s my main gaming interest.

Looks like we are going to see a lot of taric support once the buff goes live next patch. Pretty much going to see him every game...

Imbue [ Q ]

Mana cost decreased from 60/80/100/120/140 to 60/70/80/90/100

that said, looks like some mastery changes:

Bandit | Tier 5 Utility |

Now grants +3 Gold (8 for melee) for every attack on an enemy champion. The bonus gold can’t be procced on the same champion more than once every 5 seconds.

Expanded Mind | Tier 4 Utility, moved to Tier 1 |

Now has 4 ranks, increased from 3
Expanded Mind now increases mana pool by 25/50/75/100 flat mana, changed from 2/3.5/5%
Place on the utility tree has been swapped with Meditation

Inspiration | Tier 4 Utility |

Experience granted every 10 seconds increased from 5/10 to 10/20

Intelligence | Tier 5 Utility |

Now reduces the cooldown on active items by 8/14/20%, increased from 4/7/10% (note that the 2/3.5/5% CDR on spells is still there)

Meditation | Tier 1 Utility, moved to Tier 4 |

Now restores 0.5/1.0/1.5% of missing Mana every 5 seconds, changed from 1/2/3 flat mana
Place on the utility tree has been swapped with Expanded Mind

Wanderer | Tier 6 Utility |

Now grants 20 flat movement speed, changed from 5%

more ranked teambuilder news:

In a reddit thread voicing concern about trolls in champion select, Lyte popped in with a reminder that the team is currently working on a draft version of Team Builder:

"We've been working on Team Builder Draft, which is position-based (so you don't have to pick a champion first), that should solve many Champion Select problems.

We're also focused on improving skill diversity and encouraging players to still master multiple positions while maintaining the drafting/counterpicking aspects of competitive League. We'll talk more about Team Builder Draft's design in the future."

Any thoughts on what this means exactly? Logically, you have to pick a position first (eg I want to support). I wonder what else is it means...

Found an earlier post from feb from lyte:

"We're working on a Team Builder version of Ranked that is just selecting positions. That system in particular should help address problems like the one you noted."

So maybe it literally is just that... still have to build something to account for trolls and setup a brand new queue.

There are 2 lol plugins that i really like for chrome. Worth a look imo if you use chrome.

The 1st one is just a very simple twitch browser called lol stream browser - https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/lol-stream-browser/edidfaijmhpefkbnobdcepampbncgejp

You just click on it and it shows you who is streaming on w/e platform along with view counter. Sample:

The other one I use is Abios eSports Match Tracker. https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/abios-esports-match-ticke/opaikbihdaombgcfglhnmpjjpmjmglnm

Now, this one works for many eSports games, so you just edit the config to show only LoL if that's all you care about. It provides a list fo when the next matches are, what's live now, etc. It also creates pop ups if you like indicating right when a match starts. So, if you aren't really paying attention, its quick to get a reminder when someone is starting.

Both worth checking out if you have chrome.

Still need 4 more people for the LCS Fantasy league. I know Rawrr enjoys fantasy LCS, Thunder talked about joining in, Brad played last time, and Pacov will probably play if I whine enough. Maybe we can get Boaz in on it LOL

Unique Passive - Favor now grants 3 gold per nearby minion death from 2 gold.

gg - and folks thought cinderhulk was good. Still - good buff

Seriously though - possible free elo train. ardent censor on ali out of top lane. If the buff applies to creeps, ali becomes really, really, really strong. last check on pbe... it applies to creeps.

Meh, it's the weakest out of the starting items, even if I do love using the Talisman, it's pretty mandatory to get it upgraded fast, because a well managed Spellthief's is just wrecking it income wise. They might could upgrade it at each stage without making it more powerful than the other two, I just like it's engage/disengage utility better than Arctic Embrace, and the added sustain from health regen over the 50AP. It's the worst base efficiency and the lowest potential income of the three item chains at every stage.

Ekko is pretty fun. I think skill cap might be really high though. Lots of things to think through with using his ultimate as well.
