I'm having Karl Season 3 luck in my promo series to Gold III.  

First one I was 1-1 and we had the third in the bag with an 11/0 Corki but then our support DC'd.  

Last one I was 1-1 again in the series and our ADC got FB. Yay!  Then decided he was a god among men and dashed into the enemy inside their creepwave away from his support. The enemy team made fun of him when he decided he'd go duo mid after that ("Big girls don't cry Graves!" "Where'd yah go?  Come back and dash at us some more!") so he decided he needed to intentionally feed instead.  

"THIS IS WHAT YOU GET WHEN YOU EMOTIONALLY ABUSE ME!!!"  You get fed I guess?

Wait, you mean to say that all your promo games aren't with team special ed?  If I don't carry hard, I don't win a promo game.  Naturally, I main support.

well.. I joined the sad bryff club early this morning.  His dog died, my cat had to be euthanized last night at 2AM.  Wife's not taking it well, but you know... sad stuff and all.  Kind of a sad drawn out process that ended somewhat abruptly and after doing our best to get the cat good care. 

Anyway, onto less sad crap, I tried out the new support on pbe today.  Not impressed.  If you read the passive notes, you see that its actually pretty useful to go chasing the little bell things across the map.  I couldn't quite figure out a common spawn pattern other than its on 1 side of the map mostly (eg I'm bot, the things don't spawn top).  

Let's see.. so, the main thing you can do is provide soraka like sustain in early game while being healthy.  You can do some whole team cheese level 1 using his wall walk ability.  His ult is just.. hard to figure out the best use for it.  Think big team fights... I'm just having troubled thinking when you'd want to pop it and on who.  It can maybe shut down assassinations, which would be good.. but u can do that to some degree already with just exh.  The mechanics on his q will take some getting used it.  It procs a nice stun on the 2nd target hit, but you have to hit 2 to utilize.  I think it will be strong while folks are not sure how he works... and then he'll fade to crap town until some buff comes through.  I don't think his kit is super useful.  Funish champ design anyway.

Nah, those were just the two extreme cases.  There have been a bunch of other games that I could have played better in.

I believe that I have found an old headset that actually works.  And actually managed to convince my computer to use it, which was surprising difficult.

I think there are two options for Bard's ult. Ult the carrier on the other team during a team fight to cut off all of there damage while you try to kill the tanks. Ult the tanks so you can by pass there peel and kill there carries.

In lane you either ult the support or the ADC for the same reasons

I think his ult could be good against tower dives and as a tower dive tool. Ulting towers works If I remember right so you can shut down there defence and or ult yourself under your tower delaying damage on yourself during a dive (placing it in a way that doesn't shut your own tower down).

Dragon/baron fights, ult jungler -> steal dragon

There is obviously the possible saving some on on your team from death by giving them a zhonyas as well.

yeah... I don't know.  I do kind of expect bard to be used for sneaky invades perhaps (not sure if you can see his wall trick in fog of war.  I still think he'll be a pisser, though. 

so the games the other night were quite awful for me - my vi jungle was absolute crap.  Tonights games where fun and I got to blow off some steam.  Thanks fellas.  Hunny - I owe you some serious support games where I'm not acting like a jack arse. We should get some ranked going again soon.  

Started the night with a Twisted Treeline game with Karl and Brad. We dominated the game most likely do to brad getting a triple kill very early which resulted in the other team losing there first alter. Brad and I both got very very big. I had 9 or something kills and brad had similar totals. Karl was the work horse initiation with Whimsy from my lulu to chase and stun with bear stance from udyr.

Played support for Hunny last night 2 games in a row. Had a good time especially on blitz. WEEOOO WEEOOOO.

Then I played a few games with my old roommate and another friend on the troll 3's team. Ended up against some better competition and lost two games. I think they are both getting better but they still have a really bad tendancy to not watch the mini map and they frequently do not realize that they are out of position (which on Twisted treeline means you are about to get 3 man ganked).

I'm thinking playing Twisted Treeline is the way to get my buddies back in the game.  The toxicity in Gold is getting almost unbearable so it's kind of hard to give my IRL pals the 'rah rah it gets better when you get out of Bronze/Silver speech' cause right now it would feel like a filthy lie.

TT would be just two or three of us so it would be easier to carry the one possible random if they didn't do well and less chance to get a troll.  It also would force my friends to learn the solo lane champions better, especially bruisers which they're both pretty weak with currently.

So... in other words I'm ready for more TT lessons from you and Karl.  Hedgie is too busy getting Diamond IRL to play with me anymore, my IRL buddies don't play much anymore cause their souls have been crushed by griefers, and the guy who gets the band together (Pacov) is going to be really busy soon playing the new champ in Teambuilder and temporarily learning all the champs that he sees have nerfs in the patch notes.

It is a bit of a learning curve and very very very punishing to mistakes (like 2 to 3 times as bad as summoners rift) but if you listen to my sweet voice on calls and react quickly to them you will learn fast. Also if we are in a 3's game spectating it will give you a decent idea of how to play it (win or lose for us, one team will be doing it right).
